My Halloween Cemetery and Tombstones

My wife has always been a die hard fan of Halloween. I have always enjoyed Halloween, but not to the extent that she does.  For some reason, this last year…I caught the bug- and I got it bad!   After doing much studying online for DIY Halloween projects and props, I made a list of items I was going to create.   Even though I didn’t have enough time to finish the projects that I had planned, I still enjoyed working on them and watching it all come together.  Here is a list the projects I worked on -to the best of my memory:

  • Tombstones
  • Cemetery fence
  • Fog chiller
  • Simple spook alley (with a lot of small projects from mad scientist lab to floating head)
  • Pumpkin carvings that people could be jealous over
  • The all famous crank ghost

Halloween DIY CemetaryA week or so past and I was wasn’t done with any of the projects. I had to figure out what was most important.  I created styrofoam tombstones, a cemetery fence, fog chiller (for the cemetery of course).  I setup our cemetery in our yard with a nice faux brick background using our fence and some blue flood lights for effect.  Here is a picture of the end results.

After having the cemetery up for just a few days and lighting up our neighborhood at night, the compliments and admiring lookers started. I was even more hooked than before.

At this time, we only had a short time before Halloween night and we started working on our small spook alley. I’ll leave that story for another night.

In conclusion, I tremendously enjoyed creating, building and implementing home made Halloween props.  This website will become a font of knowledge for all things Halloween.
